How are you going to stand out from the crowd when your mom and dad are already on Facebook?
Hey everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m going to share with you how you can stand out from the crowd with social media marketing.
Tip #1: Leverage the new innovative channels out there.
Facebook and Instagram are old.
But you know what? On these social sites, they continually innovate.
Who’s Facebook trying to be? YouTube. So what does Facebook roll out? Facebook Watch.
It’s their version of showing live TV shows, just like YouTube.
Facebook wants a slice of the action.
If you post your video content to Facebook, they’ll instantly give you a ton of views.
Why? Because they want you to move all your video content over to Facebook. That’s innovative, right?
#2: Be transparent.
The thing with marketing is that everyone sees it for what it is.
Consumers these days see right through the gimmicks.
So whatever you do, do you. But if you really want to stand out with social media marketing, be transparent.
Lying and telling people that they’re going to get results that they’re not going to get, it’s just going to make people not like you.
Look at sites like smartpassiveincome.com run by Pat Flynn.
Pat was an architect, and now he’s just like, “Hey let me create a blog telling people and showing them “how I’m making money online “and let me even show ’em my numbers “and prove that these are my real stats.”
And people love it.
It’s all about being transparent, his marketing has taken off, and he’s one of the most popular bloggers and even podcasters out there because he’s transparent.
And that’s the cool part. By being transparent, you’re gonna get a following of people being like, “Oh, cool, you’re showing all of your amazing moments “and all your terrible moments.”
If you want to be transparent with your social media marketing leave a comment with your ideas and I’ll tell you if it’s going to work or if it won’t.
I’ve tested a lot of this stuff out, like on the Neil Patel blog; I shared my journey all the way from going from zero to a hundred thousand visitors a month.
#3: Use videos.
Look, you’re watching me.
You know the past few months I’ve been doing a ton of videos, I’ve been going to conferences, events, and you know what people have been saying?
Neil, you have amazing content.
I’m like, “Great you love my content.
“What was the latest piece of content that you liked?”
I’m just trying to get feedback on how I can improve.
And they’re like, “Oh, your video on X, Y, and Z topic.”
They’re not talking about my podcasts; they’re not talking about my blog content even though my blog content gets way more traffic.
Everyone’s talking about my video content.
Why is that? It’s because it’s helping me build a deeper connection with you.
Sure, there are lots of comments on my videos, but I also do that in my blog comments.
Why isn’t my blog growing as fast? People want videos; it’s how they connect with one another. So, create videos.
It’s not about text-based content these days; it’s not about audio-based content, if you want to stand out from the crowd it’s all about videos.
#4: Be a long-term thinker.
Look at Gary Vaynerchuk; you think he’s successful, right? He is. Did it happen overnight? No, it didn’t.
He had Wine Library TV before that, then he created his agency, then did the DailyVee, and eventually, yes, you’re seeing him everywhere, but it took him a long time before he got to where he is.
And the same with me. You think I’m an overnight success?
No, I’ve been doing this for over 16 years. That’s a long time.
No, you don’t have to put in 16 years like I am before you start seeing results and making money, but if you want to really succeed in the marketing world, you have to think of it as a three-plus year plan.
Don’t expect amazing things in the first six months; you’ll see some traction.
After the first year, you’re going to start seeing growth.
After the second year, things are going to start skyrocketing.
After three years, assuming you’re pushing hard every single week, then things are going to start blowing up.
But, if you don’t do it consistently you won’t do well. It’s all about the long game.

Hey everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today, I’m going to share seven ways you can increase your e-commerce sales by over 50%.
Tip #1: Focus on one product.
You do not need to be selling millions of products like Amazon to do well.
I met a lady who makes high heels more comfortable selling insoles.
She has one product, and that’s it. Do you know how much she makes?
Well into the seven figures per year. You don’t need a lot of products to do well.
If you’re on Shopify, you can use Oberlo, and that’ll help make it, so you don’t have to worry about the logistics.
If you’re only doing one product, your life becomes so much easier. Focus on one product that solves a pain point.
#2: Upsell and downsell.
It’s easier to get someone who has bought from you once to spend more money with you than it is to get new people to buy from you.
If you’re selling insoles that make women’s shoes nice and comfortable, your upsell could be a pack of three instead of just one.
That’s an easy upsell.
Doing simple things like that will increase your lifetime value, which will open up more possibilities.
#3: Advertise.
Facebook advertising and Google AdWords both work extremely well in e-commerce marketing.
Facebook ads and Google ads are a great way to boost your e-commerce sales, and you if you’re not sure where to get started with Facebook ads or Google ads, leave a comment below and I’ll answer you, and I’ll give you feedback on how to run the perfect Facebook ad campaign or a Google AdWords campaign.
#4: Leverage subscriptions.
Make sure you offer subscription options. For example, if you’re selling makeup or lipstick, people are gonna run out of it. The question is just when? So why not give them an option where they can subscribe and continually get new makeup?
If you’re using Shopify, you can use a tool called Recharge to make your product a subscription.
#5: Recover abandoned shoppers.
In 2017, roughly 75.6% of shopping carts were abandoned.
So, you need to make them come back and buy.
How do you do that?
Recovering abandonment solutions, such as collecting their emails.
When someone’s buying from you, you’re probably collecting their name and email first before you’re showing the credit card information.
You can do things like exit intent offers, using tools like Hello Bar, where you show them an exit offer saying, hey, thinking about leaving?
Put in your name and email and I’ll send you a 10% off coupon or a free shipping coupon.
#6: Optimize your checkout process.
Baymard did a study on checkout pages.
They found when companies optimize their checkout pages, they made an extra 260 billion, that’s not million, that’s billion with a B, extra dollars.
Don’t forget to optimize your checkout process.
The way you do that is by first removing unnecessary fields.
Why would you ask someone for their name and email and address multiple times?
That’s unnecessary. Keep it simple.
The other way you can optimize your checkout process is by making it two-step.
#7: Leverage a referral program.
If someone’s buying from your e-commerce site, they probably know other people have the same problem and need your solution.
Create a referral program, and you can do this through ReferralCandy.
You can do simple things like, get 20 bucks when you refer someone that also signs up and buys.
The key with a referral program is to incentivize both the person giving the referral and the person accepting the referral.
Follow these seven tips, and you should generate at least 50 plus percent more in sales.

So what is Social Media Management and why do you need it? Well, social media management is the process of building a strong following on social media. Essentially, posting content that adds value and engaging with your community on the most relevant social platforms for your business. But to better understand it, let’s talk about 5 reasons why you need it.
Reason 1 – It’s where your customers are! It’s the new TV. It’s where the attention is! More and more people are searching in native app vs Google
Reason 2 – Social proof is part of the buying process
Reason 3 – It’s the new referral system
Reason 4 – It creates brand awareness. Your brand awareness grows month over month (snowball effect). Increased awareness + increased trust = increased sales!
Reason 5 – If you don’t, your competitors will! Compare yourself with your competitors on social media. Who’s better? It’s not something you can skip!
How it Works
Now that you know what it is and why you need it. Let’s walk through 6 steps on how it works.
Step 1 – Kickoff call with your Social Media Manager.
Step 2 – Decide what social platforms are best, help you set them up and brand them
Step 3 – Research & strategy planning. Build idea library for content ideas, posting schedule and review everything with you to get your feedback and approval. Who are you targeting? What are you posting? What are your customer’s questions? What content do they like? What are your competitors posting that’s working? What inspires them, makes them laugh, educates your customers? What type of posts: videos, stats, quotes, blog articles, customer reviews, case studies, holidays, promotions/deals, company news, employee spotlights, etc..
Step 4 – Begin posting content, promoting content and engagement activities. Monitor and respond to comments, etc. You are sent the content at least 1 week in advance of to review and approve before it goes live.
Step 5 – Adjust content to fit your brand voice over time
Step 6 – Review data and do more of what’s working and less of what’s not over-time.
Bonus Tip – Be patient, give it time. Select a good budget, posting 2 times vs 7 times. If you’re not seeing the results you’re looking for, communicate that to us! Your success is our success.
