WordPress is now among the most widely used blog publishing platforms in existence. The Open Source community created and continues to update WordPress. It’s 100% free and available for download, thanks to the GNU General Public License.
In this article, I’ll show you how to get WordPress up and running with Fantastico, a program that can do the installation for you in about 5 minutes. I’ll do my best to go through everything you need to know, from choosing a hosting service to launching your blog. Okay, so let’s begin.
Locate a cheap web host.
Finding an economical hosting service with helpful technical support and CPanel (I’ll explain) is something I’d recommend if you aren’t already using one.
Explain CPanel to me.
Website management is a breeze with CPanel (Control Panel), a web-based program. I used to use a hosting service that didn’t provide a client control panel; that was many years ago. Everything I wanted to be done required a call to technical assistance. With CPanel, you may manage the server and make any necessary adjustments to its configuration.
Locate a Web Host Provider
Look for a cheap web server that provides CPanel. What about these ideas?
The Most Popular One Is Hostgator
CPanel & Fantastico & Starting at Only $6.95/mo
Website No. 2: LunarPages
CPanel & Fantastico & Starting at Only $6.95/mo
Put Your Name on the Internet
GoDaddy.com’s low prices and convenient services for registering domain names are why I use them. Domain name registration is available for $8.95.
Please Inform Your Hosting Provider About Your Domain Name Registration
If you register a domain name through GoDaddy, they will act as the domain’s official registrar. After signing up with them, you must update your domain name’s registrar from GoDaddy to your new hosting provider. To switch the listed registrar, access the CPanel.
Free domain name registration is a perk that some web hosting providers give to attract new users. Don’t let this chance pass you by. When a domain is registered through a hosting provider, that firm also becomes the official registrar.
SQL Server Database
MySQL, an open-source database management system, is included in your hosting plan at no additional cost. Blog entries, comments, archived posts, and other information are all kept in MySQL databases in WordPress. Before installing WordPress, you must create a MySQL database. If you don’t have a database already, WordPress will ask you to create one before continuing the installation.
