Sure, the internet broke down international barriers and connected us globally, but the opportunity to provide searchers with what they were looking for in their own backyard proved to be immensely popular. In fact, recent research suggests that up to 43% of Google searches have local intent, and not surprisingly, 50% or more of mobile search is local.
