With a few simple changes, you can make your WordPress blog optimized for traffic generation.
The first thing you need to do is install the Yoast SEO plugin. It ensures your WordPress site is Google friendly and it even creates a sitemap for you.
Once you create your XML sitemap you need to add it to Google Search Console. This will help index your pages faster so you can get more search traffic.
In addition to the XML sitemap, Yoast allows you to create custom title tags and meta description tags for each blog post. Make sure you create one that is appealing by including adjectives and the keywords you are trying to rank for.
The more appealing it is, the higher your click-through-rate will be, which will cause your rankings to increase over time.
The second thing you need to do is cross link. As you publish more blog content you need to link your posts together which helps with indexation and rankings. Just make sure the links are relevant.
Follow those two tactics and you’ll have a search engine friendly WordPress blog.
