What Is The Google Local 3 Pack? (for beginners) | Local SEO
Here’s what you need to know: The Google Local 3 Pack is where more customers (aka money) can be found for your business.
For example, If you go to Google and type in your industry, for example hair “salons near me”, the three businesses showing under the map is called the Local 3 Pack. If you can get your business found there, you WILL get more customers. Simple as that.
You’re probably thinking, Blake, how do I get found as one of those 3 businesses? Well, the Google Local 3 Pack is based off three factors. And this is straight from Google:
Proximity
Relevance
Prominence
The Google Local 3 Pack shows for 97% of local based searches. Which means people looking for products, services, places near them. Almost all local based searches have 3 local businesses listed. Your job is to get in those 3 so your potential customers can find you.
It get’s better. The Google Local 3 Pack often shows before websites, and according to a study, more potential customers will click on the 3 pack than the 2nd website or below! Which is crazy!
You may hear this, so I got to mention it: The Google Local 3 Pack is also called the Snack Pack. Those terms are basically interchangeable.
What you need to know is The Google Local 3 Pack is made up of Google My Business Listings, which is the free business Listing in Google. If you’re unsure if you have one, go to google.com/business to find out.
Here’s some cutting edge info: The Google Local 3 Pack will now pull out and show a snippet of your Google Review or Google Post. So it’s wise to get a diverse amount of Google Reviews and make strategic Google Posts for all the types of terms potential customers may be typing into Google.
